Here is a list of colleges that provide completely supported PhD programs in clinical psychology, as part of our series on How to completely Fund Your PhD. Gaining a Ph.D. in clinical psychology may lead to a variety of professional paths, including those in academia, private practice, and medicine.

Clinical psychology Ph.D. programs that are fully financed provide full tuition remission to full-time students along with an annual stipend or compensation for the duration of the program, which typically lasts three to six years. Complete financing is typically provided through graduate assistantships, with the understanding that students would instruct or finish research in their area of study. Ph.D. programs in clinical psychology are not always fully funded, therefore it is important to look at the financial assistance packages offered by a wide range of programs, including smaller, less well-known universities in the US and elsewhere.

The ProFellow database lists external financing sources for graduate school, dissertation research, fieldwork, language study, study abroad, summer job experiences, and professional development in addition to fully supported PhD and Master’s programs.
